BURGLARY AT STRONG PRAIRIE
A very daring burglary was committed Monday morning at Strong Prairie, the thieves securing about $1,000. They broke into the store of John Fiegel & Son, and, drilling a hole in the safe, blew it open with dynamite. There are indications that there were two burglars, and they must have been at work for several hours, but as no one else was in the building, they were pretty safe from being discovered. They have been tracked to this city and thence north from here, the trail being soon lost, and there is no other clue to them. Officers are out in all directions. It is believed the job was done by expert cracksmen. Source: The Wisconsin State Register, (Portage, WI) Saturday, November 28, 1891; Issue 42; col B

NEW CREAMERY AT STRONG’S PRAIRIE J. W. Coapman.
Editors Register: Mr. E.S. Gibbs, of Portage, has just complted for the farmers of Strong's Prairie, Adams county, six miles east of Necedah, a separator creamery similar in style and machinery to the one in Portage. At the opening and test of machinery last Monday there were many people gathered to the spot to witness the process of separating cream from the milk, ost of whom had never witnessed that system. It is needless to add that great surprise and pleasure manifested; 1,728 pounds of milk were separated at the test in less than two hours, which was satisfctory under the circumstances of the new machinery, etc. The factory will in due time be one of the first in rank in the state owing to a wide range of good farming country in the vincinity. Several farmers are now milking foom ten to twenty-five cows. The people of Strong's Prairie are delighed with the new enterprise in their midst and with its efficient management they will most certainly made a success of it. At the first meeting of directors the following named were elected for officers:
D.H. Town, president
Wm. Walker, Jr., secretary
O.C. Ely, treasurer.
The plant is co-operative and is incorporated, under the state law. Orders have already been received from St. pal and other places for butter, which will be filled as soon as possible.
Crops in this section are about the same as in the vicinity of Portage. Corn, however, isnot so good as it is further est. The weather is delightful for haying and early harvesting. J.W.
