M.C.SMITH TAKEN ILL Recently M. C. Smith, a farmer of Strong’s Prairie, Adams county, went to his marsh six miles from home for a load of hay. He succeeded in getting the load on the sleigh, when he was taken so suddenly ill that he could not climb on to his load. Then he thought to write a note, fasten it to the team and send it home, but found himself unable to write. As a last resort he unhitched his team from the sleigh, fastened the lines around his body, and so was half dragged by the horses a distance of four miles to a neighbor's house, where he was taken in and cared for.
